It’s having an innocent view of the world—like believing in Santa and breaking out in random songs. It’s living out loud without a care of judgement. It stares from those who don’t understand. It’s pity from those who can’t comprehend. It’s being loved in a way you cannot describe and understanding the love of God in a way you didn’t know possible. It’s hard. It’s wonderful. Tomorrow is Rare Disease Day. This day is held on the last day of February to generate support for everyone who is on a rare medical journey. The date is chosen because in leap years this day falls on February 29, the rarest date in the calendar. ?? ?? ?? This week Remedy Group joined together in true Remedy Group style — virtually — to show our support for Rare Disease Day by SHOWING OUR STRIPES! ?? ?? ?? Zebra stripes are the official mascot of rare disease patients —?just like a zebra’s stripes, every rare individual’s journey and story is unique. Coming together to show our stripes was a great way to recognize Rare Disease Day across the company and to better understand the patients we serve through our rare disease clients now and in the future. Here are a few takeaways: ???1 in 10 Americans are living with a rare disease (that's 30 million Americans) ???RARE doesn't necessarily mean rare —?in fact there are over 7000 rare diseases —?what can be rare, however, is an accurate diagnosis and available treatments ??
