Congratulations Kathi Baer, Nurse at Learning Services in Escondido, CA for being honored with the Western Region Values in Action Award! Kathi has been with Learning Services for over 16 years. She applied for the job because she fell in love with the client population. No two days are ever alike, so there is no time for boredom, ever.?She loves being able to form relationships with the clients, the staff, and the medical personnel in the community.?Kathi feels like working at Learning Services is like having a large family and the most important part of the job is being an advocate for the client, as they often do not have a voice, or understand how to navigate the system.? Kathi is an avid swimmer on her days off, and a devoted "dog mom."?She has two great kids (a daughter in Washington State, and a son in Oceanside).?Her bucket list includes purchasing an old house in a small Italian town up in the mountains, and doing a renovation and returning to her home country of Switzerland to live. #weloveourstaff #movinglivesforward #valuesinaction #nurse #patientcare #EscondidoCA

March is Brain Injury Awareness Month and, this week, Paige Salinas, Vice President of Clinical Operations – Western Region and Peter Wright, Director of Learning and Development spent a few very positive days in Washington, DC connecting with Brain Injury Association of America (BIAA) and other stakeholders, networking and hearing inspiring stories from survivors and families. The conference culminated with a trip to the Capitol on Wednesday, where they had the opportunity to lobby our senators and representatives helping to ensure the future of brain injury funding and advocating for the National Brain Injury Action Plan. #BIAA #braininjuryawarenessmonth #movinglivesforward
