The majority of corporate “transformations” fail to meet their objectives. On this International Day Against Violence Against Women, it’s crucial to recognize that 1 in 4 women and 1 in 3 men are victims of violence. While this might not seem like a typical business concern, it significantly undermines productivity and team dynamics. Imagine driving around with a tire that has a nail lodged in it. You might pump air into it, hoping it will hold, but that’s only a temporary fix. Sooner or later, that tire will give out, just as a team struggling with the repercussions of violence will. We can’t afford to overlook this issue. Here are two proactive steps that managers, HR, and peers can take to support victims: 1??Implement training programs on recognizing the signs of domestic violence and providing support. Knowledge is power; understanding these issues can foster a more compassionate workplace. 2??Encourage a culture of empathy by checking in with team members. A simple ‘How are you doing today?’ can go a long way in making someone feel seen and supported. Let’s work together to deflate the stigma surrounding this issue and create a healthier, more productive workplace for everyone. #Leadership #WorkplaceSafety #DomesticViolenceAwareness #InternationalDayForViolenceAgainstWomen

Feeling like your business success rests solely on your shoulders? I worked with Sara, a small business owner who felt overwhelmed managing every aspect of her startup. We discussed why she felt so overwhelmed and what her blocks were. It turned out she was having difficulty letting go of responsibility. Sara's breakthrough came when she embraced delegation and team empowerment. She started by automating her inventory management with smart software, then delegated customer service to a capable assistant, and finally empowered her sales team with decision-making authority on discounts. These steps significantly reduced her daily workload and allowed her to focus on strategic growth. Get weekly tips to help you make empowered decisions right to your inbox by joining my newsletter. Feeling the weight of owning your own business? Owning and running a business is rewarding but comes with its stress and responsibility. It can feel like a never-ending battle managing tasks, finances, and growth. This pressure can be overwhelming, especially when it feels like it’s all on you. How can you enjoy your success without being weighed down? ??Take time for self-care to prevent burnout. If you’re like me, you’re rolling your eyes and thinking, “Who has time?” Reimagine self-care as being certain the right things done on time without you micromanaging or being a perfectionist. ??Prioritize tasks. Spend a 10 minutes at the beginning or end of each day to set your task list up by priority. Get done what is most important and delegate or let slide the less important ones. ??Delegation isn’t just about lightening your load—it’s about empowering your team. If bad past experiences make you reluctant to delegate, remember that delegating well is a skill worth mastering. It frees up your time to focus on strategy and gives your team the opportunity to grow, take initiative, and show their value. Ready to build a team that thrives? Start by letting go. ??Find your people, whether it’s a networking group, friends, or a business coach. Find the people that can give you support, help puzzle through the big decisions, and offer trustworthy feedback. Remember, seeking support and guidance can turn challenges into opportunities for growth. Spend 15 minutes helping yourself, with my FREE Masterclass video.
