?? “It is currently estimated that more than 200,000 Australians are living with Parkinson’s disease, imposing a substantial national economic burden of $9.9 billion or more.” With these numbers expected to increase 36 per cent by 2024 and a staggering 79 per cent increase by 2034, we're taking action. Charles Sturt University's Dr Shanna Fealy is leading a collaborative research project that is providing valuable insights into the prevalence of Parkinson’s disease and offering potential solutions to improve the lives of those affected. With a new Parkinson's disease clinic opening on the Mid North Coast, this research has the potential to improve the health and care services for people living with Parkinson’s disease in rural, regional, and remote Australia.
