The Bowl is a college football game matching teams from the SEC and Big Ten/ACC Conferences. It is a culmination of a weeklong schedule of events throughout the Tampa Bay area. It has hosted games typically on New Year's Day for 37 years. Over it's history the bowl has generated a $1.1 Billion economic impact for the region plus millions each year in national and international exposure for the area. It has also distributed over $170 Million to universities. The bowls Charitable Giving Initiative was started in 2016 and has donated millions of dollars to more than 160 area charities.

Last week, ReliaQuest Bowl Board of Directors member Tim Dyn presented a check to the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation in support of their annual gala called “Rock N’ Roses.” Cystic fibrosis, or “CF,” is a rare, genetic life-shortening disease that affects every organ in the body and makes breathing difficult. The mission of the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation is to cure cystic fibrosis and to provide all people with CF the opportunity to lead long, fulfilling lives by funding research and drug development, partnering with the CF community, and advancing high-quality, specialized care. Since our founding in 1955, we have worked alongside the cystic fibrosis community to effectively transform a genetic disease in a single generation — making CF one of the most amazing stories in medicine today. Thanks to our unprecedented progress, the median age of survival just hit 61 this year, and people with CF are achieving milestones like attending college, getting married and having children – goals that used to seem impossible.
