Founded in 1929 by Dr. Michael Fallon, Reliant Medical Group was the first group medical practice established in Central Massachusetts. Known initially as Fallon Clinic, the name of the organization was changed to Reliant Medical Group in October, 2011. In 2015, Reliant Medical Group merged with Southboro Medical Group – a union that has created the largest independent medical group in Central and Metrowest Massachusetts. In 2018, Reliant Medical Group became part of Optum. We have over 500 providers, about 2,700 employees, and serve more than 320,000 patients in over 20 locations. We offer a unique collaborative approach to care that helps patients through sickness and health with compassion and a dedication to service. A number of Reliant providers and staff members visited North High School in Worcester to introduce students to professions in healthcare and share their career journey. By bringing together advanced practitioners, clinical pharmacists, a psychologist, physical therapists and healthcare administrators, students were able to gain real insight into not only what a healthcare career is like, but the steps necessary to be successful in one. Kudos to the the APC Council and the North High School Guidance department for organizing this very worthwhile career event!

It’s official,?ReadyMED PLUS in Natick is now open! Conveniently located on Route 9, the site offers walk-in medical care for adults and kids of all ages (including infants) for non-emergent illnesses and injuries. The office is open 9am-8pm, seven days per week and patients can check wait times online at readymed.org. On Thursday, July 11th, we celebrated with a ribbon-cutting ceremony and staff open house. Dr. Chris Andreoli, CEO, did the honors! Congratulations to all of our ReadyMED providers and staff who worked so hard to make this new office a reality,?and to everyone involved in opening the new office!?

This morning, our Shrewsbury team was proud to celebrate a site expansion with the unveiling of a new Adult Medicine area. Guests enjoyed a reception and a tour of the impressive new space. The site expansion includes room for four primary care providers to practice in eight new exam rooms. The added capacity sets the stage for primary care growth and enhanced access to care for patients in Central and Metrowest Massachusetts.?Congratulations to the entire Shrewsbury team, led by Site Administrator Anthony Scuderi, on this wonderful expansion initiative! ?

I was honored to keynote at The Wharton School's annual Health Care Business Conference today to discuss accelerating value-based care. Thank you Brad Fluegel for engaging in a thought-provoking conversation.? ? People should get the care they need, when they need it. Value-based care is?a model that incents early intervention, rewards high quality care, delivers better outcomes and drives lower costs. And perhaps most important, it puts primary care at the center.? ? I'm very passionate about accessibility in health care, including on a global level. I had the opportunity to go on my first surgical mission trip with One World Surgery to Honduras several years ago, which ignited a spirit of service. As a board member now at One World Surgery, I am privileged to find ways to amplify our impact to deliver life-changing outcomes, both to patients and participants on our mission trips.?
