Yesterday, Mays Business School and its longtime corporate partner, Reliant Energy, unveiled the new Reliant Student Experience Office, supporting Mays students throughout their college experience from recruitment to career development. Made possible through a partnership that dates back to 1999 with a $3 million gift through the Texas A&M Foundation, Reliant’s investment will now provide high-impact experiences for students in four areas: recruitment, academic success, leadership development, and career development. The company will also be engaging with Mays students by participating in the business school’s academic programs and inviting students to the Reliant Houston facilities. As Mays works to develop leaders of character, partnerships with corporations like Reliant enable the school to provide exceptional education experiences and development opportunities to students at every stage of their academic journey. It's back to school season and Reliant is proud to partner with the Houston Rockets for our Second-Annual Back to School Bash! Benefiting HISD students and families, Reliant provided 1,000 backpacks, school supply kits and books to help ring in the new school year.

Reliant and the Houston Astros were excited to host this year’s top 1,000 “Reliant Readers” at the ballpark! As part of the 3rd annual Slide into Summer Reading program, over 2,000 Houston-area students read more than 5,600 books for a total of 205,000 minutes. Now that’s a home run!
