Last week, Relevate Power was honored at the #TransformAwards, bringing home Gold for Best Visual Identity in the Energy & Utilities category and Bronze for Best Brand Evolution in the Business category. ???? ? A huge shoutout to our incredible team, especially our CEO Matthew Wenger and the talented folks at Brandpie, who were the masterminds behind this transformation. ? We went from being Elevate to Relevate—and yes, we had plenty of fun joking about how we paid money to add an 'R' to our name ??—but the truth is, the work done by Brandpie was next level (pun intended)! Our new website, logo, and motto, "Next Level Energy," all reflect the exciting journey we’re on. More exciting news coming soon! In the meantime, check out www.relevatepower.com Thank you MaryLee Sachs, Nick Ranger, Jennifer Kisker Goodchild, Scott Snashfold, Transform magazine

I had the opportunity to sit down with Thomas Duffell at IJGlobal's REFF Wall Street conference to discuss how the tax equity landscape is evolving post-IRA for first-time Sponsors like Relevate Power. Here are the three biggest lessons: 1. Hybrid Deals are the New Norm (But Complex!) Traditional tax equity remains a go-to for established players, but hybrid structures are becoming the standard for others. These new structures may include new faces and more aggressive step-ups, though they’re complicated and still need to be standardized. 2. New Buyers Need Education and Patience While traditional investors still dominate, interest from private equity and corporates is growing rapidly. The main challenge is educating these new entrants about the intricacies of the market, particularly as we all learn to navigate evolving IRS guidelines. Brokers and online platforms are playing a crucial role in this process by increasing the visibility of credits, educating buyers, and standardizing terms. 3. Tax Credit Pricing & Strategy Pricing for tax credits varies wildly, with a convergence of around 90-94 cents per dollar, and factors like deal size, sponsor experience, and insurance availability are the key drivers. Practical lessons for 2025? Start early and be religious about documentation. Oh, and make sure you are assembling the right advisors (like Andy Nguyen at CRC-IB) who can get the job done for you. Special thanks to Nick Sangermano for the invitation and his continued mentorship. #TaxEquity #Transferability #RenewableEnergy #IRA #HybridDeals

Amen, boss!
Super excited to announce the first closing of our growth equity round with Greenbacker and Aegon Asset Management. This first $15M will fund an upcoming acquisition (watch this space!) and the construction of our national operations center in Albany, NY. Very pleased to welcome the infra growth track record Aegon brings to our family. Wouldn't have been possible without the hard work and vision of our A-team - Goksenin (Goksi) O., Ian Finlay, Ian Clark and Antonio Zarrella, and the ongoing support of our friends at Greenbacker; Benjamin Baker and Jér?me Briens. Stay tuned for announcements re: additional equity partners joining our mission to electrify rural America with 24/7 renewable energy...

We are excited to deepen our partnership with Greenbacker and welcome Aegon Asset Management into the Relevate family. “The commitment from Greenbacker and Aegon Real Assets US strengthens our financial foundation, enabling us to pursue an exciting acquisition and commence construction on our national operations center,” said Matthew Wenger, CEO of Relevate Power. “We are continuing to see an outsized market opportunity for our hydro-first approach to 24/7 power in rural areas and anticipate raising additional funds in the coming months to further enhance our project portfolio and operations."
A few weeks after the launch of our equity raise, we just announced the first close lead by Greenbacker and Aegon Asset Management. Today, Relevate Power owns and operates 21 run-of-river #hydropower facilities across the northeast, and we are on track to triple our footprint by the end of 2024, investing heavily in the Midwest while augmenting our northeast portfolio. Stay tuned next week for the close of our programmatic debt facility and first major acquisition... ? Benjamin Baker, Managing Director at Greenbacker Capital Management, which manages the Greenbacker Development Opportunities Fund, said, "We are pleased to contribute to this round of funding, reaffirming our support for Relevate Power’s approach to hydropower redevelopment. Relevate’s work is crucial for the ongoing transition to a more sustainable energy system, and we are confident in their capacity to achieve significant impacts in this sector."
