Kansas City Office Design is a family-owned business specializing in designing and furnishing workspaces that are both aesthetically pleasing and highly functional. To create a standout visual identity and launch their website user experience into the 21st century, KC Office Design partnered with Relentless Design Co. Our challenge was to craft a unique identity that celebrated the story of three siblings dedicated to revolutionizing workspace design with a customer-focused approach. Avoiding clichés like generic furniture imagery, we sought to honor Kansas City heritage while making KCOD stand out in a competitive market. The brand mark needed to feel fun, friendly, approachable, and simple—infused with a lighthearted touch and a nod to Kansas City culture. The solution: inspiration from the iconic shuttlecock sculptures on the lawn of the Nelson-Atkins Museum of Art. The final design allows the mark to be rotated in four distinct orientations—individually or within lockups—echoing the dynamic placement of the actual art sculptures. This playful flexibility adds a sense of movement and personality to the identity. It was an absolute joy collaborating with the KCOD team, and we couldn’t be happier with the final result. Their passion and vision made this project a truly rewarding experience. With the help of the incredible digital alchemist Sarah Frey, we extended the new identity to KCOD’s website, focusing on UI/UX enhancements, lead generation, and SEO.
