Last month, members of our NYC Property Operations team attended the Meet & Greet for the newly revived downstate New York State Affordable Housing Management Association (NYSAHMA), sharing insights and connecting with industry colleagues. It’s always rewarding to see our team actively engaging and building relationships within the affordable housing community! Reestablished in June 2024, NYSAHMA is a non-profit organization for property managers and owners of affordable and government-assisted housing across New York State. #TeamRelatedAffordable

On Tuesday, The Related Affordable Foundation, Related Midwest, and After School Matters unveiled the “Love and Unity in the Community” mural at South Shore on The Park, a Related Midwest affordable development. The mural showcases the creativity and talent of 19 local teens from After School Matters, including 11 residents of South Shore on The Park. Amazing to see the colorful installation brightening up the residents’ community center and bringing everyone together!

To mark the completion of Lake Worth Towers’ renovations, Related Affordable hosted a festive residents’ luncheon. Since acquiring this?senior affordable community?in May 2023, Related Affordable engaged in an extensive renovation process for all 195 units. Residents can now also enjoy?new?and upgraded?communal spaces, including?a new fitness center, library, computer lab and beauty salon.?During the luncheon, we were thrilled to hear how pleased the residents are!

Congratulations Michael Kaplan, Related Midwest Vice President of Affordable Development, named to Crain's Chicago Business 40 Under 40 list. In his role at Related Midwest, Michael has been a champion of affordable housing and has spearheaded several transformative projects in Chicago and throughout the Midwest. One of the most notable is the redevelopment of Roosevelt Square on Chicago’s West Side, where over 200 new mixed-income units are under construction, with plans for nearly 1,200 more.?
