Reimagining Primary Care Forum

Yesterday, I had the privilege and honor of chairing the Reimagining Primary Care Forum. This intimate conference was packed with some of the most amazing and innovative leaders in healthcare. The insightful and engaging panels, lightning talks, roundtables, and break-away discussions allowed us to go beyond the challenges of healthcare and actually share solutions. I got to meet some of my LinkedIn connections in person which was such a wonderful experience Kameron Matthews, MD, JD, FAAFP Saria Saccocio MD MHA FAAFP Erica Savage-Jeter, MD, MBA, CRC, FAAFP Dana McCalley, MBA Reza Alavi, MD, MHS, MBA Jonathan Hart, MD MBA Business of Primary Care Christina M. Blake And I made new connections with some amazing people Erika Pabo, MD, MBA Priscilla Wang Kristen Gradney MHA,RDN,LDN Lissy Hu Shivika Singal, MHA, PMP Gary Price Eyal Kedar Katherine Gergen Barnett Adrienne Rupp Josh Pappas Joel Brill just to name a few. Overall, I left feeling invigorated and excited for the work that we will all be doing to advance primary care and improve health outcomes. Great day yesterday at the Reimagining Primary Care Forum with dear current & former CenterWell Senior Primary Care Humana Mass General Brigham colleagues and meeting new ones! It is always reenergizing to be around like-minded colleagues who have dedicated their careers to improving the access, experience, quality and equity of care and restoring joy in work to our healthcare workforce. Duong, MD, MPH Aaron Hoffman, DO, MPH Gary Price and Joel Brill talking about how we build the future of primary care as we closed out the day. #access #equity #outcomes #itsabouttime #restoringjoy Leading and operating inside a full risk value-based care organization in my day-to-day work, it is easy to forget how deeply fortunate we are to provide care in this context. Not that we don't have opportunities to continue improvement and next wave innovation inside this model (and we are working diligently to execute those everyday!) but I left with a great reminder of how rapid movement to full-risk valued based models with as long a time horizon for taking risk as possible is absolutely critical (although insufficient) to providing exceptional care. We are able and incented to support true whole person care support much more than other models. A female-led day at Reimagining Primary Care Forum 2024. Megan Mahoney, MD, MBA led a great discussion on the tough realities and hopeful future for #PrimaryCare. Talk about a phenomenal breadth of perspectives: Lissy Hu of WellSky (not pictured) highlighted the difficulties of integration between ambulatory care and LTC, Katherine Gergen Barnett spoke to her optimism with metric-driven solutions, Lisa Rotenstein examined the provider experience and where there is room for improvement, and Erin R. McNeely shared her successes in value-based care implementation. I was of course proud to highlight Cityblock Health, our focus on purpose built solutions for marginalized communities, and the accountability that must be built into a transformed health care system. #transformation #innovation #healthequity #healthcareonlinkedin
