Many interesting conversations had this morning at the cross-border & economic conference in the Carrickdale hotel. With the island of Ireland seeing a 77% increase in trade since 2016 with 38% concentrated along the M1 corridor, cross border trade has never been so important. It was insightful to hear the economic impact of global politics, supports available to businesses and some of the skills gaps that businesses are experiencing while also discussing the difference in skills and work force demographics north and south. AI-Powered Deepfakes Threaten Google Accounts & Personal Information Cybercriminals are leveraging the power of artificial intelligence (AI) to launch highly sophisticated attacks, including deepfake robocalls and phishing emails impersonating Google. These scams aim to steal your login credentials and gain access to your sensitive information. You receive a convincing robocall warning of suspicious activity on your Google account. You're directed to a phishing email with instructions to secure your account. The email contains a link to a fake Google login page designed to capture your credentials. Once they have your login details, they can access your emails, contacts, and potentially other connected accounts. ?????? ?????? ?????? ?????????????? ????????????????? ? Never click on links in unsolicited emails or text messages. ? If you receive a call or email about your account, contact the organisation directly through a trusted channel to verify its authenticity. ? Be vigilant and protect yourself from bogus tradespeople and phishing attempts related to utility services. Bogus Tradespeople Be wary of individuals offering quick repairs at inflated prices, especially those claiming damage that doesn't exist. Legitimate tradespeople will provide verifiable identification and will not pressure you into immediate decisions. Always obtain multiple quotes and verify credentials before agreeing to any work. Phishing and Vishing Scammers may attempt to contact you via text, email, or phone, impersonating utility companies like ESB. They may claim your account is overdue or threaten disconnection. Remember: ?? ESB will never ask for your password or bank details via text or email. ?? Be suspicious of any communication demanding immediate payment. ?? Never click on links in suspicious messages. ?? If you receive a suspicious call, hang up and contact ESB directly using their official number.
