Louisiana Gas Association's Annual 2024 Pipeline Safety Conference Recap ----- RegSafe participated in the Louisiana Gas Association's Annual 2024 Pipeline Safety Conference held in New Orleans, Louisiana the week of August 12 – 15, 2024. It was another great conference where industry professionals, pipeline safety regulatory agencies, and stakeholders met to discuss, promote, and advance pipeline safety and regulatory compliance. The importance of this conference cannot be overstated as it attracts local, regional, and national pipeline safety professionals to speak and share their experience, technical expertise, and insight into current and emerging pipeline safety regulations and operations, and maintenance activities. RegSafe had the opportunity to share their knowledge and experience in developing, implementing, and managing pipeline safety regulatory compliance programs for natural gas, hazardous liquids, LNG, and underground natural gas storage facilities. This year, the RegSafe team provided sessions on: ? Jurisdictional Determination – reviewed critical processes and details that must be considered and evaluated to determine the jurisdictional applicability of gas and hazardous liquids pipelines and underground natural gas storage facilities. ? Enforcement History of PHMSA - Analyzed and discussed all PHMSA / LaDENR enforcement actions from 2020 – 2023 to increase awareness and understanding of effective and efficient ways to improve pipeline safety across the industry. ? Breakout Tanks - Design, Construction – Discussed the regulatory requirements and impact of regulations on designing, constructing, operating, and maintaining pipeline breakout tanks. ??UNGS Well Work Compliance Planning Execution and Documentation – Discussed the regulatory requirements and how to ensure pipeline safety compliance when performing underground natural gas storage well work.
