What a way to begin, from the smell of ceremonial smoke, powerful music and sounds of the didgeroo, the beautiful art projections around the room, and such a warm and generous welcome by Uncle Allen Madden of the Gadigal people of the Eora nation, here in #Sydney, Australia. The world first Global Nature Positive Summit 2024 is off at a gallop, and we're feeling so grateful to the organisers for grounding the opening plenary with Indigenous leadership. For the past 3+ years we've been building trust with a remarkable network of place-based leaders and convenors across Australia. Bayo Akomolafe talks about obstacles as 'the richest, thickest, densest place in the universe'. Considering this, funding bioregional regeneration is rather an obstacle in the field at large - it is not business as usual, it exists in a paradigm outside of our current dominant operating system.
