Dr Maroun El Moujabber (CIHEAM Bari) was the #rapporteur of one of the 11 moderate #discussiontables, each addressing a set of questions related to the #future of FOOD 2030. ?? ???????? ???????? ??????????????- ?????? ?????????????? ???? ?????? ???????????????? ?????????????????? ???? ???????????????????????? ???????????????? (????????), aimed to progress the three #priorityactions identified by the group, including for study and #portfolioanalysis, refining collaboration with the #FutureFoodS partnership and other #SCAR Strategic Working Groups (#SWGs), and addressing the question: *“What is the most important point to take onboard for FP10?” ??In particular, Maroun El Moujabber (CIHEAM Bari), as referent for the #internationaldimension of food systems within the SCAR Food Systems Strategic Working Group (SWG), emphasised the importance of identifying the #impacts and #linkages of food systems with trade. He highlighted the need to consider three key pillars: #policies, #fundingopportunities, and #projects across various critical areas, such as #foodsecurity, #foodsovereignty, #agriculturalmarkets, #foodenvironments, and #foodprocurement, among others. They have just released a new Policy Brief on ‘Research and innovation priorities for more sustainable food systems in Europe and globally’.??????? ?? This truly relevant peace of work highlights the key insights and recommendations from the virtual workshop “International Expert Consultation on Research Needs and Priorities for the Transformation to Sustainable Food Systems at European and Global Level”, held from 23-25th January 2024. After discussing the challenges, the EU food system is facing in the global context, and identifying priority R&I issues, this policy brief highlights four key areas of R&I intervention to accelerate the transformation of food systems. The #SCAR Animal Health and Welfare CWG held its annual plenary meeting from 9-10th December 2024 in Rome, with the possibility of online participation for members unable to attend in person. The aim of the meeting was to consolidate the European network with authorities, policy makers, funders, experts and private partners with a strong interest in animal health and animal welfare in the EU and beyond. The first day was dedicated to the meetings of the two subgroups of the CWG (Animal Welfare subgroup and Strategy & Foresight Unit), which ended with a joint sequence for the first time to optimise discussion within the CWG.
