TLDR: Part 1 of “A Practical Guide to Sustainable Style” is now available, message me for an invite to the closed beta!

Happy Earth Month!
This year I want to take this moment to speak candidly about “sustainable fashion.”
Fashion is inherently unsustainable by almost every measure and definition. My personal definition of sustainable is “able to be sustained, without environmental or human harm.” Unfortunately fashion is still a system of many kinds of harm… But it doesn’t have to be!
Fashion can become a system of empowerment, and we can first empower ourselves and then others through the idea of “sustainable style.” What’s really great about sustainable style is that it connects personal and collective empowerment with true environmental sustainability in fashion.
When people think of “sustainable fashion” it can seem complicated, expensive, and even bland, but sustainable style is simple, affordable, and personal. Sustainable style can help people feel more confident, authentic, and empowered, all while saving time, money, and the environment. It sounds wild because it is!
If you’re interested in the idea of sustainable style and how it can help you and your closet, then please check out “A Practical Guide to Sustainable Style” by my startup Reforme U: https://www.reforme.style/
Module 1: Reframing Your Mindset just launched as a closed beta, so please message me/leave a comment/tag people or orgs and I’ll send an invite... This course is suitable for people of all ages (high school to senior citizens), and there is no previous knowledge of fashion or sustainability required!
I think it’s high time we speak truthfully about so-called “sustainable fashion,” and bring hope and solutions to all people. I’m not convinced that the industry will ever change itself because it’s motives have not changed... But if we give people solutions that actually help, empower, and benefit them, then I believe we can reach enough people to affect positive, lasting systemic change by affecting the demand-side of the equation (25% will quite literally create the change). WE the people have the power to transform not only ourselves, but also the entire fashion system from a source of harm to a force for empowerment… And we can do it through sustainable style.
