Spring Break doesn’t mean a break from mental health. We get it — Spring Break usually means vacations, beach days, and a break from the routine. But for those struggling with their mental health, consistency is key. That’s why Reflections Lifestyle Center is staying open during Spring Break. Gaps in treatment can make a tough situation even tougher, and the last thing we want is for anyone to end up in crisis or the hospital because support wasn’t available. At Reflections Lifestyle Center, we know that access to mental health care shouldn’t come at the expense of school commitments. That’s why we’re expanding our services to include an evening Partial Hospitalization Program (PHP) and Intensive Outpatient Program (IOP) for adolescents (ages 13-17). ?? ?? Promotion Announcement?? We are delighted to share that Shenella Karunaratne, LPC has stepped into her new role as Director of Adolescent Clinical Services at Reflections Lifestyle Center. As a Licensed Professional Counselor (LPC), Shenella brings a wealth of experience in clinical leadership and mental health treatment, with a strong foundation in working with high-acuity mental health conditions such as complex trauma, substance use, and severe mood disorders. Her diverse experience spans residential treatment, partial hospitalization, outpatient settings, and clinical leadership at the U.S. Department of Veterans Affairs, giving her a unique perspective on delivering effective treatment and fostering a supportive, collaborative environment. Shenella is committed to ensuring that both our clients and clinicians thrive in an atmosphere built on compassion, ethics, and the highest standards of care. Originally from Sri Lanka, Shenella is a proud alum of Midwestern State University, where she received her education and clinical training. Outside of work, she enjoys spending time with her family, exploring the fine arts through music and painting, and soaking up the cultural experiences that the DFW area offers. With her exceptional leadership and expertise in clinical social work, Kaitlin is committed to enhancing our client-centered care and ensuring that individuals facing complex mental health and life challenges receive the highest standard of support. Kaitlin brings over seven years of experience managing high-acuity cases, overseeing personalized care strategies that empower clients on their path to recovery. As a Licensed Master Social Worker (LMSW), she combines her clinical therapy skills with program management expertise, making her an invaluable asset to our team. In her new role, Kaitlin is not only responsible for clinical oversight but also plays a pivotal role in staff development, creating a collaborative environment of safety, accountability, and compassion for both clients and their families. Outside of work, Kaitlin is a passionate traveler, always on the lookout for new dining spots and road trip adventures. She’s also deeply connected to music, having grown up playing the violin and piano, and enjoys immersing herself in orchestral music to find balance and inspiration.
