I perform a Google search fairly often around terms like #customeradvocacy and #advocatemarketing to see if there are articles or news that I may have missed. Last week I found a press release for Optimove's "2025 Consumer Marketing Fatigue Report" which speaks about trends they're observing that indicate consumers are tuning out, due to the aforementioned marketing fatigue, and that the key to breaking through isn’t just more messaging—it’s better messaging. ? Amongst customer advocacy professionals, I don't think that conclusion on it's own will raise a ton of eyebrows. We work with the understanding that real engagement is best generated via recognition, authenticity, and nurturing relationships—not just pushing promotions. But as organizations double down on AI-driven #personalization, there may just be an opportunity to apply those same principles to advocacy. ? Asking ourselves the following is important: - Are our customer stories tailored to resonate with the right audiences? - Are our champions being asked to participate in ways that feel meaningful to them? -Are we leveraging data to ensure advocacy outreach is just as relevant as our marketing efforts, and as closely aligned? (<-- arguably the most important, imo) ? Customer marketing teams who are prioritizing recognition and relationships, and quality over quantity—whether in references, reviews, or advocacy engagement—are the ones that are building lasting loyalty. #MarketingFatigue #CustomerEngagement
