Last Friday, the John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship hosted the second year RedHawk50 Reception and Awards Gala, an event dedicated to honoring and commemorating the exceptional achievements of the 50 fastest-growing Miami-founded or Miami-led private companies worldwide. This event was held at the iconic Cincinnati Music Hall, and was attended by over 300 esteemed guests, all present to celebrate the entrepreneurial success that Miami University fosters. The event began with a networking hour, where our executive team and fund members had the opportunity to socialize with numerous Miami faculty, administrators, alumni, students, and friends, in addition to the founders, owners, and investors in the second cohort of RedHawk50 companies. Former RedHawk Ventures Managing Director Katherine McIntosh was selected to be MC of the Gala, where she expressed how Miami, especially the entrepreneurial community, has impacted her own success and highlighted the remarkable achievements of the individuals present. Our two current managing directors, Tyler Williams and Jake Langdon, also had the pleasure of honoring the companies on stage.? This initiative plays a crucial role in acknowledging, involving, and commemorating the exceptional contributions of Miamians in the fields of business and entrepreneurship. This event also showcases the strength of Miami University’s support system, as talented individuals converged to praise thriving enterprises. Furthermore, it solidifies Miami University and the John W. Altman Institute for Entrepreneurship as the preeminent "Cradle of Founders", serving as a conduit for Miami alumni and former students leading these companies to demonstrate success and inspire the next generation of Miami-based entrepreneurs. A huge thank you to all that helped make it possible for our fund to be represented at this remarkable event! RedHawk Ventures thoroughly enjoyed being able to attend the Gala and is grateful for the opportunity to participate in this unique experiential learning event.
