We are honored to continue the work of Mary Beatrice Davidson Kenner! ??
Let’s take a trip through time and celebrate incredible trailblazers in period care! ?? Back in the 1950s, Mary Beatrice Davidson Kenner—an African American inventor—patented the adjustable sanitary belt. It was a total game-changer for menstrual care, offering women a secure and comfortable way to handle leaks. Unfortunately, discrimination kept her invention from hitting the market at its peak, but her brilliance sparked the innovation we see today. ? Fast forward to now: meet Dana Roberts and Dr. Monica Williams, the dynamic duo behind RedDrop! They’re shaking things up by creating period kits designed specifically for tweens! Their mission? To make sure every girl feels supported, confident, and ready for the journey into puberty. From Kenner’s pioneering work to RedDrop’s fresh, modern approach, the future of period care is bright, inclusive, and full of possibilities. We’re talking eco-friendly, accessible, and super empowering! ?? Here's to honoring the past, celebrating the present, and looking forward to a future where period care is a positive experience for everyone! ?? #BlackHistoryMonth #PeriodPower #Innovation #GirlPower #MaryKenner #RedDrop #Trailblazers #Sustainability #PeriodPositivity #NextGenCare

?? We Won! ? Last night on the Paramount Lot, surrounded by brilliance and inspiration, RedDrop was honored to receive the 15% Pledge Achievement Award! I am beyond grateful for this incredible recognition and the $200,000 in grant funding to help us grow and continue empowering school-aged girls with the period care they deserve. A huge thank you to Emma Grede, Aurora James, and the entire 15% Pledge team for this opportunity and for championing Black-owned businesses in a way that truly creates generational impact. Being in a room filled with Black excellence, game-changers, and visionaries was an unforgettable experience—yes, I was starstruck! ?? This award is more than just funding—it’s a powerful statement that our mission matters. RedDrop is here to change the way girls experience their first periods and beyond, and with this support, we’re stepping into the next phase of growth with even more strength and determination. To every girl who deserves better period care, to every founder who dares to dream big, and to every person who believes in building a more inclusive and equitable future—this win is for all of us. #15PercentPledge #RedDrop #AchievementAward #Grateful #GameChanger #WomenEmpoweringWomen

In January 2025, some states are attempting to rollback the approved funding for period supplies in schools. State Representative Katy Peternel, R-Wolfeboro, sponsor of HB 415, expressed concerns to the House Education Policy and Administration committee. She mentioned that although she does not oppose providing free menstrual products in restrooms, she views the requirement for schools to cover the expenses as an "unfunded mandate.” We unapologetically push forward. ?? https://lnkd.in/ej-7Sih7

To Our LA Family?? from Dana Roberts: When I was 8 years old, I lost my home to a fire. Every doll, book, and precious memory was wiped away in an instant. I will never forget that feeling. RedDrop operates from Compton and more than half of our team call LA home. RedDrop understands that a large percentage of girls rely on schools that are now in ashes for their period supplies. We want to stand in the gap to provide products as girls rebuild their lives. We commit to providing feminine hygiene products for tweens and women in this time of need. RedDrop products can be found at the Pasadena Convention Center starting next Tuesday. If you have girls with specific needs, please email us at [email protected] and we will do our best to honor them. In times of tragedy, the beauty of humanity resonates. We are praying fiercely for our neighbors as they rebuild and recover. In service, Dana & the RedDrop team
