关于我们
The American Red Cross Southeastern Pennsylvania Region serves more than 4.2 million people in Philadelphia, Bucks, Chester, Delaware and Montgomery counties. The American Red Cross prevents and alleviates human suffering in the face of emergencies by mobilizing the power of volunteers and the generosity of donors. The American Red Cross, through its strong network of volunteers, donors and partners, is always there in times of need. We aspire to turn compassion into action so that... ...all people affected by disaster across the country and around the world receive care, shelter and hope; ...our communities are ready and prepared for disasters; ...everyone in our country has access to safe, lifesaving blood and blood products; ...all members of our armed services and their families find support and comfort whenever needed; and ...in an emergency, there are always trained individuals nearby, ready to use their Red Cross skills to save lives.

Throw Back Thursday - The Junior Red Cross formed in 1947 as a way to help support the organization's WWII efforts. Children found creative ways to fundraise and even helped knit clothing items. Today's Red Cross Clubs may look a little different, but they continue to support our mission, especially by hosting blood drives. Learn more: https://rdcrss.org/3ZkIJGR

The Red Cross honored PA State Police Trooper John Finkbiner with a Lifesaving Award for saving the life of 1-year-old Carter who was choking in a car driven by his mother on the PA Turnpike near Upper Dublin, Montgomery County. He counts saving Carter among the top 5 moments of his life. Trooper Finkbiner was nearby when the call came over the radio and he got there quickly. “I had to do a quick assessment based on what I saw from him. He was blue lipped. He was pale. He was ashen. My immediate thought was ‘this isn’t good,’ but I was there. I had to do a job. And I just started everything,” he shared. He worked to clear Carter’s mouth and airway and when he turned him over to get ready for the next step, he said Carter “took a big gulp of air. And I went, ‘that’s what I wanted!’ Then he let out a big scream and I was like, ‘yeah! Keep screaming for me kiddo.’ Then his color started coming back.” Carter, along with his parents John and Malorie, helped present the Red Cross award earlier this month at the King of Prussia State Police barracks. The family also gave Trooper Finkbiner thank you pictures drawn by Carter's older siblings. In January, Trooper Finkbiner will retire from the PA State Police after 23 years. “It’s like the icing on the cake,” he said. “This tops it for me. I wouldn’t want to end it any other way,."
