What started as a classroom project in beading using math and other curriculum basics, second graders at Grant Elementary in Santa Monica raised nearly $1,500 for the Red Cross to support those affected by the LA wildfires, by selling their handcrafted beaded bracelets. Their efforts inspired matching donations—a perfect math lesson in collective giving! During a special check presentation, students asked thoughtful questions about humanitarian work and gifted Red Cross representatives bracelets with uplifting messages. Their creativity, generosity, and teamwork proved that even small hands can make a big impact! Read the full story : https://rdcrss.org/41Hl17s ?? #BetterTogether

?? While vacationing on Maui, Hometown Heroes Vesta Sung and daughter Nathalie halted their vacation to become shelter volunteers only hours after the devastating wildfire ravaged Lahaina. Vesta became the shelter manager, coordinating resources for over 1,200 evacuees, while Nathalie organized sleeping areas and distributed essentials. Their compassion and resilience offered vital support to those affected by the tragedy. Join us in celebrating heroes like the Sungs at the 20th Annual Hometown Heroes Luncheon on Friday, May 16, 2025, aboard the Queen Mary. ?? See link in bio to purchase your tickets today!
