Thanks to your support, we planted nearly 100,000 native tree seedlings ?? in 7 Community Forests in Nepal's red panda habitat last year! ?? Newly planted seedlings face numerous challenges, including nutrient deficiencies, competition with weeds, water stress, and potential damage from livestock. ?? To ensure the survival and growth of these seedlings, we hired local people of the area for post-restoration care, such as mulching (to retain soil moisture and suppress weeds), manuring (to provide essential nutrients), and staking to support and protect saplings from wind or grazing animals. This vital work provided 1,167 days of green jobs for the people who live among the pandas, creating sustainable revenue while cultivating environmental stewardship! ?? Local women are important stewards of our reforestation and community-based red panda conservation. We're committed to providing sustainable livelihood opportunities, like post-restoration work, that foster gender equality and empower women to find financial freedom.?? ??
