One of Red Clay’s many successful projects was implementing Oracle Energy and Water Smart Grid Gateway (SGG) and Meter Data Management (MDM) for a large municipal utility in the south. Combined with smart meters, this allowed the utility to implement time-of-use metering and billing, leading to new customer-responsive rates and support for alternative power generation models. ? The project was completed in two phases. The first phase included implementing the Oracle SGG Adapter Development Kit (ADK) for the Elster AMI HES and Oracle MDM for VEE and bill determinant calculations for the utility’s electric meters in less than six months. The second phase included support for its water meters, automated field activity integration with device commands, and additional HES integration. ? Red Clay served as the Prime Systems Integrator responsible for requirements, design, configuration and system integration, testing, training, production migration, and production support for the MDM and SGG. ? This project demonstrates Red Clay’s expertise in Oracle Energy and Water products and our ability to deliver complex solutions on time and within budget. Red Clay recently successfully concluded a two-phased project for a Western utility to enhance its customer service capabilities. The utility sought to satisfy its customers’ increasing expectations with a proactive approach to customer engagement. The utility wanted to promote conservation and needed new processes and systems to meet this objective. ? Red Clay was engaged to perform a business process re-design that identified areas for improvement.
