Red Cat's Teal drones have been chosen for the U.S. Army's Short Range Reconnaissance Program > > https://hubs.la/Q02Z8Q4q0 The production selection was made after a test and evaluation process of Teal’s next generation sUAS, completed by the Army Project Management Office for Uncrewed Aircraft Systems, Army Maneuver Battle Lab, Army Test and Evaluation Command, and Army Operational Test Center. Athena have been working with Teal for 2 years now, enabling detect, classify, battle track and sending reports native to ATAK as shown on a Teal 2 in this video. Athena's Computer Vision Pipeline and Battle Tracking Service provides Group 1 platforms with Group 3 level AI and autonomy. It can distinguish specific features of an object, track objects between occlusions, geolocate the entities for fire missions, and cluster entities to determine EN unit strength. It can rapidly retrain new object classes in minimal time with minimal imagery, and Human Factors trials by Defence Science and Technology Group (DSTG) found "Athena will provide the Australian Defence Force with a tactical edge, by providing enhanced SA; and importantly the legal and ethical guidance in the heat of battle during fires missions". This capability has been developed in partnership with Australian and US military end users over 5 years, to reduce the cognative burden on front line operators, rather than just providing screens filled with boxes of detections. Teal's partner to win approach has proven successful for the US Army, bringing best in breed vendors into the tech stack. We look forward to our continued parternship in the future.
