Big News: APR is launching Recycling in Action month! ?? This May, recyclers across the country will be opening their doors to the public to showcase how plastic recycling really works! Material Recovery Facilities (MRFs) and plastic recyclers in over 20 cities will welcome community members, local stakeholders and policy makers to see what happens after recyclables leave the curb. ?? Why does this matter? ? It builds trust in recycling by letting people see it in action first-hand. ? It connects household recycling efforts to real environmental and economic benefits. ? It demonstrates the vital need to invest in more and improved recycling across the country. "Recycling starts in millions of homes, but many people don’t know what happens next," says APR President & CEO Steve Alexander. "By seeing the process up close, we hope to inspire even greater participation and investment in recycling." We applaud the US Environmental Protection Agency (EPA) for releasing its first-ever Recycling Needs Survey and Assessment. We urge Congress to pass a recycling infrastructure investment tax credit to drive economic and environmental progress through recycling and a circular economy. “Our mission is to build a better recycling system, one that delivers the economic and environmental benefits our communities and the hundreds of thousands of people who work throughout the recycling industry deserve. This new data from the EPA makes clear the challenges ahead but also the opportunity for collective action to transform the way we use, reuse, and recycle materials.” - Keefe Harrison, CEO of The Recycling Partnership Read more in today’s statement: https://hubs.ly/Q033lt3t0 #recycling #recyclingpolicy #congress #EPA

“With a How2Recycle label already inside nearly every home in America, the new label, featuring Recycle Check, delivers real-time information on what is accepted for recycling locally to people across the country. Reducing confusion on what can be recycled is essential to improving the U.S. recycling rate. Real-time, location-specific education is a critical tool for recovering the 76% of what could be recycled but is instead sent to landfills or incinerators.” -- Katherine Huded, Vice President of Recyclability Solutions at The Recycling Partnership
Heard about How2Recycle Plus? ??? "Aiming to simplify recycling across the U.S., How2Recycle recently revealed its new How2Recycle Plus label, featuring The Recycling Partnership’s Recycle Check." Check out the latest coverage on the dynamic, data-driven future of on-pack labels in this Packaging Europe article. ??? ? #Recycling #How2Recycle #How2RecycleForward #Recycle
