Our very own Juan (Carlos) Diaz II was recently featured by the Division of Student Life at the University of Tennessee, Knoxville, for his incredible role in training officials who will officiate the debut of flag football at the 2028 Summer Olympics. Registration is now open for the first annual RecSports 5K Fun Run and Walk! This event is presented by Weigels Inc., our Title Sponsor. Shout out to our Membership and Outreach Coordinator, Eric Harrell. Harrell has been working for RecSports at the University of Tennessee-Knoxville for four years. From planning our First 5K Fun Run & Walk to working with our Outreach Assistants, Eric has been an integral part of our RecSports Team. "I love working with students because I like being able to help shape them for their future career. With Outreach, we touch all the areas of RecSports in one," said Harrell. We truly appreciate Eric's hard work and can't wait to see his hard work for the 5K come to life this spring!

In February, we will be opening registration for our first Annual 5K Fun Run and Walk on May 3rd. Partnering with Weigels Inc., our course will span from the TRECS to Sutherland. As we embark on the new semester, we are launching our Annual T-Flex Program. From January 21 to March 14, RecSports invites students, faculty, staff, and members to participate in T-Flex, a program allowing participants to maximize their wellness potential. Last year, we had 462 register and 133 complete our program with a reward of a sweatshirt. In addition, we gave away 246 stickers associated with our program. We are excited for participants this year and hope to have record numbers in registration and completions this year. We hope you can #FlexYourFlex!
