September is National Recovery Month (SAMHSA, 2024), and this year Recovery Friendly Workplace put together a guide of events hosted by local organizations to celebrate Recovery Month throughout New Hampshire! Each event will promote and support all recovery pathways, celebrate the strength of the recovery community, and honor the dedication of providers and communities who make recovery in all its forms possible. They are all free and open to the public, so whether you're looking to broaden your own recovery community or get more information on available resources in your area, all are welcome! You can find dates, details, and locations in the guide. We encourage you to share this guide throughout your networks in the state! https://lnkd.in/er23mJJb Granite United Way

The Recovery Friendly Workplace initiative empowers workplaces to support people recovering from substance use disorder.
关于我们
Founded by New Hampshire Governor Chris Sununu in 2018, the Recovery Friendly Workplace Initiative helps businesses strengthen their workforce by providing them with the tools and resources they need to develop workplace cultures that are supportive to those in recovery or who are impacted by Substance Use Disorder (SUD) more generally. In doing so, businesses are able to leverage recovery as an asset in the workplace, all the while drawing upon the benefits that come along with creating a more supportive, open workplace culture, including increased productivity, greater customer and employee loyalty, and less turnover and absenteeism. The Recovery Friendly Workplace Initiative is working with over 320 workplaces in New Hampshire, representing over 80,000 employees, and has now been embraced by 26 states across the nation. NH Governor’s Recovery Friendly Workplace Initiative is administered by Granite United Way in partnership with the State of NH.

Insightful article by Lee Hafner in Employee Benefit News featuring Mark S. Bonta - #RecoveryFriendlyWorkplace #SUD “Acknowledging that there is a stigma around SUDs, Bonta emphasizes that supporting someone's recovery is not the same as enabling an addiction. "Recovery friendly does not mean drug friendly," he says. "You can be a drug-free or a zero-tolerance workplace and still [offer] recovery from them.”

Great post from our friends Addiction Recovery Coalition of NH. Recovery is possible!
?? Can Substance Use Disorder (SUD) Be Treated Successfully? Absolutely! ?? Yes, SUD is a treatable disorder! ?? Thanks to extensive research on SUD and its treatment, we now have effective, research-based methods that help individuals stop using substances and lead productive, fulfilling lives. This journey is often referred to as being in recovery. ?? ?? Can SUD Be Cured? ?? While SUD treatment is not a cure, it is very much like managing other chronic diseases such as diabetes or asthma. It helps people counteract the disruptive effects of SUD on their brain and behavior, allowing them to regain control of their lives. ?? With the right support and treatment, recovery is possible! ???? #RecoveryIsPossible #SubstanceUseDisorder #HopeAndHealing #MentalHealthMatters #AddictionRecovery #StrongerTogether #RecoveryMonth

Congratulations to WorkPath Staffing on their designation as a Recovery Friendly Workplace! "WorkPath Staffing is a Recovery Friendly Workplace, most of our workers come from local sober houses. Our team attends weekly sober house meetings to talk to residents and share with them how we are a resource for them. We team with community partners including recovery centers, shelters and jails, drug courts and other facilities to help clients/residents find work. We understand the fear associated with returning to the work force upon completion of programming or after being released from jail. We work to find the best match for the worker/customer and if the worker is struggling, we are there to help them. There is no shame or blame if a worker needs a day or time off to work on their recovery, we encourage and support this. WorkPath Staffing is not just a staffing agency; we are a catalyst for positive change, dedicated to transforming lives and building a stronger, more interconnected community."
