?? Meet Alyx Gold, our Board Secretary! Alyx is a selfless transformational leader in the addiction and behavioral health space. She is strong advocate for social progress and community and shows passion through empowering others and changing long term outcomes. Alyx is constantly improving and learning and was able to get certified in emotional intelligence life-coaching. Alyx puts her heart at home, recovery, and life in general because of her own walk through her past in addiction, and later, the loss of her beautiful brother to the same. Since her loss, she chooses to live in his honor every day. Alyx is someone who continues to inspire and love on others. She’s a great friend to lean on and always offers the best advice. “I chose to be a part of Palooza because I believe in connection. Coming together, from all of our professional, personal, and social positions for one common goal - connection - allows for things like healing, growth, and fostering beautiful, bright futures & opportunities. I love to love others, and At the foundation of all that I do on grander scales, that loves drives all that I do” “My family is my world - my parents, my siblings, my relationship, and above all my children. ?? Meet Kathy Peters, our Board Director of Fundraising and Sponsorship! ?? Kathy Peters is a genuine light, like a breath of fresh air wherever she goes. This year, Kathy shared that she couldn’t be more thrilled to be a part of Recovery Palooza, a community event dedicated to raising awareness about addiction resources. The impact of addiction is deeply personal to Kathy, as she’s seen firsthand the devastating losses endured by families. Mothers have lost their children, children have lost their parents, spouses have lost their partners, and these are just some of the unfortunate hardships that drive Kathy’s passion for what she does…. And the cycle tragically continues. Kathy emphasizes that it's crucial we rally together as a community to ensure these resources are accessible to all who need them, and she believes in Recovery Palooza as a phenomenal platform for this mission! What a beautiful and powerful perspective she has! In honor of Endless Summer theme, when Kathy thinks of the summertime, she told us “my mind drifts to the serene beauty of the Upper Peninsula in Michigan, with its breathtaking beaches and tranquil surroundings.” Her favorite part of the summer season is creating unforgettable memories with her nine-year-old son. They love splashing around in the pool, exploring the thrilling rides at Kings Island water park, and immersing themselves in the vibrant energy of fairs and festivals. What a warm and fun picture to paint of the summertime! I think we can all agree that Kathy looks through a pretty magical lens. Further, what truly makes summer special for Kathy is anything related to water—"the refreshing pool dips, the soothing lake breezes, and the endless adventures waiting at the beach.
