New research at #Geisinger highlights virtual #cardiacrehab and #telehealth. ???? Takeaways: ? Virtual cardiac rehab significantly reduces costs while improving patient outcomes ? Patients show higher engagement and completion rates compared to traditional in-person programs (mainly due to reducing access barriers) ? These programs lead to fewer hospital readmissions and emergency department visits ? Virtual options expand access to care, especially for rural patients ? The future of cardiac care is becoming increasingly digital and patient-centered ?Over 3000 patients were involved in the study, and the Recora virtual cardiac rehab program was utilized to demonstrate the results. As we continue to innovate in healthcare, it's inspiring to see technology making a real difference in patients' lives. Barriers have included patient transportation challenges, scheduling issues, and limited space in center-based programs. Home-based, virtual programs can make it easier for those with these challenges to participate.
