Just published a new blog post on our website: Adaptive Bioregional Governance Adaptive Bioregional Governance is a unified framework for establishing bioregions around the world. It resolves the tension between scientifically defined bioregions and culturally defined bioregions by creating a flexible, adaptive model that incorporates both. When we observe nature, we see natural complexity—a network of nested relationships and dynamics that exist in a fractal structure. Certain patterns repeat from one landscape to the next and express themselves uniquely in any given place. By acknowledging these varying relationships and incorporating them into a scalable model, we can establish a governance framework that accurately fits into any ‘place’ around the world. Adaptive Bioregional Governance can serve as a common lexicon for the bioregional movement and a foundation for systemic action. https://lnkd.in/gVPuyZbX

We build systems and tools for regenerative projects, supporting resilient bioregional communities with digital mapping.
关于我们
ReCommon is dedicated to driving systemic impact across bioregions through innovative digital mapping and curated impact data solutions for regenerative land projects. Our mission is to empower organizations with the tools and insights necessary to make informed, sustainable land use decisions that foster resilient and regenerative communities. Originating from years of research and development as a nonprofit, ReCommon leverages a deep understanding of ecological systems and community needs to deliver comprehensive digital mapping solutions. By integrating local project data with global ecological datasets, we create detailed, actionable maps that enhance decision-making, improve stakeholder communication, and drive meaningful results in projects such as watershed restoration, conservation, sustainable agriculture, and resilient supply chains. In addition to our mapping services, we offer holistic consulting to support the implementation of regenerative initiatives. Our innovative frameworks, including the Adaptive Bioregional Governance model and the Regenerative Community Land Trust (RegenCLT), set new standards in land use, governance, and regenerative economic modeling, promoting sustainable community development. ReCommon has collaborated on impactful projects worldwide, including an indigenous-led initiative in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia. Our work has been featured in publications like “Bioregional Financing Facilities: Reimagining Finance to Regenerate Our Planet,” and we regularly contribute thought leadership through our ReCommon Litepaper and other writings. Our team members have presented at key industry events such as the Transformative Impact Summit during Climate Week NYC and the REGENERATION event by Regen Network. Additionally, our insights have been shared on popular platforms like the Doomer Optimism Podcast and the Blue Dot Podcast, and we are proud recipients of the Regen Foundation enDAOment program.

Our CEO & co-founder Alex Corren is in NYC this weekend for Transformative Impact Summit and other events. You won't want to miss his talk on Sunday!
Very excited to be speaking at the Transformative Impact Summit in NYC this weekend! My talk is called "Building Bioregional Commons: Governance & Impact Mapping." In this talk, I'll delve into the intersection of governance and technology for developing regenerative communities. The session will introduce impact mapping as a vital tool for visualizing and managing bioregional initiatives, highlighting real-world applications and lessons learned. I'll share how adaptive governance frameworks can empower community, protect ecological systems, and promote long-term resilience. This talk is essential for those interested in regenerative land stewardship and sustainable development. Hope to see you there! ??

Our team just returned from a bioregional initiative gathering in the Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta, Colombia. ???? For nine days, we learned from and collaborated with indigenous Arhuaco leaders and amazing humans from other organizations. The main theme: establishing an actionable regenerative community development plan that embraces the deep complexity of the region. We'll share more about this effort as the work continues to unfold. For now, time to integrate. ?? (Photo: Chris Giersch, Josh Burtnett, Alex Corren, Eduardo Esparza, )

? JOIN OUR ONLINE COMMUNITY ? https://lnkd.in/ghm-s7WK A couple weeks ago we launched an online community forum to connect people, bioregionally and globally, with similar goals for a regenerative future. This comes after years of connecting with groups from bioregions all over the world, all with a common mission - to protect land; to build resilient communities; to remediate the environment. We had no way of gathering people under a common roof... until now! The community is just getting started, and we'd love to have you join. There's a lot of exciting programming and educational content in the pipeline that we'll be rolling out soon. See you in there!
