As a woman physician, I stand on the shoulders of giants- women who were the lone female in their medical school class, overtly turned away from positions due to their gender, or felt compelled to hide their pregnancies when interviewing for positions. Yet, despite the seeming distance from these heroines, only 18% of female physicians feel as though their career growth is prioritized. This corresponds well to the dearth of female leaders in healthcare despite the ever increasing numbers of women entering medicine. Change requires systemic support. What are some ways that your organization will prioritize the advancement of women physicians in 2025? #healthcare #healthcareleadership #physicianburnout

We physicians care deeply about our colleagues and our community. A recent survey of internal medicine physicians indicated that 5 out of 6 respondents believe that workplace culture is as important or more important than compensation. For individuals who have high levels of educational debt and often delayed wealth building for decades this is significant. Building a supportive workplace that values the healthcare team and makes room for discourse, independent thought, and mutual aid will go far in bringing back the joy in medicine- and improving the health of the nation. How is your organization prioritizing a cultural shift that uplifts the team? #healthcare #healthcareleadership #physicianburnout

Artificial intelligence is already well established in medical practice, but there is still a gap in our ability to justify and clinically validate the technology. Research from University of North Carolina indicates that of the AI tools authorized by the FDA only 43% have publicly available data confirming their clinical results. Furthermore research suffers from confusing terminology and a lack of standardization of validation which ultimately increases bias in clinical practice. The lack of transparency decreases physician buy-in, further impairing our engagement with our work and adding to burnout. Physicians need to be on the forefront of validating AI tools to improve patient care and ensure the integrity of medical knowledge. What is your organization doing to ensure AI algorithms are well vetted before integrating them into clinical practice? #healthcare #healthcareleadership #physicianburnout
