Recast Capital is a 100% women-owned venture capital platform that invests in and supports top-tier emerging fund managers, with a focus on diverse partnerships. The platform was founded by seasoned, institutionally-trained fund investors Courtney McCrea and Sara Zulkosky, and built to drive returns and create change in the venture industry. I'm always inspired by my peers, and enjoyed having some time to step back and soak in knowledge from so many incredible investors. ?More exciting news coming out today from Recast Capital ? We’re officially accepting applications for the 2nd cohort of our Accelerate Program ?? Last August, we invited 36 talented and inspiring emerging managers to join our very first cohort. Over the past few months, they’ve forged new connections and relationships with their peers, received executive coaching from top development practitioners in the industry, participated in our educational programming, received $100k (!!!) in operating support, and so much more - a full recap on the progress from cohort one to come soon! ?? ??? Now, we’re looking for a new group of women and nonbinary-led emerging funds to join our second cohort ?? Who should apply? The application criteria is below: ??US-based emerging venture funds (I-II) led by at least one general partner who identifies as a woman or non-binary, and 75% of companies funded are/will bebased in the US. ??Venture funds should be focused at the early-stage, and have less than $25M in AUM at the time of applying (not including any closed capital for an open fund for which you're raising capital currently, any SPVs or personal capital invested). ??Participating funds will be required to report on the demographics of the founders in which they invest. The data will be combined with other participants, anonymized and analyzed; findings will be published by Recast. ??Passionate about changing the face of venture capital and building relationships with like minded individuals Our Accelerate Program is designed to tackle the institutional barriers that persist in venture capital. Unfortunately today, it still takes women 2x+ longer to raise a venture fund, on average. Like many, I'm fortunate to host a number of events that align with my and the Consumer Technology Association's policy priorities and values. And often, you wonder if you've made an impact, whether it's relevant, and whether you're making a difference. Our event, honoring #WomensHistoryMonth and celebrating women in venture capital, unequivocally and affirmingly answered those questions. We are making an impact. The conversation on women in the venture space is always relevant and timely. And we are making a difference through the Consumer Technology Association's $10 million commitment to invest in women and diverse-led venture funds. Importantly, it was evident in the women (and men!) who wanted to learn more about investing themselves (me too!) in women-led startups, the young lady who was excited to attend because she had just accepted an offer for her first internship in venture capital, and how long our panelists and guests lingered to connect with each other.
