At GIV, we’re more than just a refugee-led incubation center — we’re a hub of innovation, transformation, and empowerment. Over 100 aspiring scholars attended this unique scholars selection event, and it wasn’t just about interviews; it was about uncovering the next generation of social change-makers. We are grateful to see the event happen to all our centers. Our model of selecting scholars is unique with full of activities that allow participants to unlock their inner ability. Our mission is clear: to reshape the future for young people from marginalized communities including refugee camps, break limiting beliefs, and create new paradigms of success. On August 23, 2024, we proudly funded a storytelling workshop Facilited by Natalie Sifuma from the Sisters in Climate designed for aspiring women #writers, #photographers, content creators, and #filmmakers in kakuma #refugee camp . This session was both educational and engaging, tailored with consideration of the unique ways in which #women connect with each other. Despite the challenging circumstance of the forced displacement, we fostered a strong sense of sisterhood among them. The workshop's initial goal was not only to support female refugee #changemakers in refining their #narratives and prepare for international speaking opportunities but also to promote #inclusivity in the storytelling context.
