At Rec2Connect, we are devoted to utilizing fully inclusive recreation therapy programs to connect people with and without disabilities and their families to community recreation, wellness, and lifelong leisure skills. We are dedicated to developing life-long skills, promoting access to recreation, and increasing community inclusion for people with and without disabilities and their families to enhance their quality of life. We utilize standardized assessments to identify our client’s needs, interests, and abilities, then use those assessments to develop individualized goals. We meet individuals where they are, and use their interests and preferences to customize programs. We also work with a variety of local agencies to assist with funding for our programs. Rec2Connect’s team consists of professionals from a variety of backgrounds and skill sets. Our team includes Recreation Therapists, Intervention Specialists, and Special Education Teachers. All of our team members have a passion for providing goal-driven and meaningful recreation therapy services in a community setting. All staff members complete Rec2Connect specialized training in therapeutic, procedural, and aquatic therapy prior to starting with clients. We work together to continue to grow and learn as a team, to be up-to-date on new practices and standards, and create a positive and supportive environment for all.

March is Developmental Disabilities Awareness Month. As part of its month-long celebration and to demonstrate its commitment to inclusion, Cuyahoga DD announced the recipients of $184,100 in grant funding. These funds will support Cuyahoga County accessibility, arts and culture organizations, libraries, and recreation centers and providers. Recipients will create or expand their inclusive, adaptive, and accessible programming for people of all ages with disabilities. 2025 arts and culture recipients are ARTFUL Cleveland, FIG / Future Ink Graphics, Museum of Contemporary Art Cleveland, North Pointe Ballet, Oh Sew Powerful Inc., Theatre Agápe, and Valley Art Center. Awards ranged from $5,000 - $10,000. 2025 physical access recipients are Beck Center for the Arts, City of Cleveland - City Hall, City of Westlake, CLEVELAND KIDS' BOOK BANK, East Cleveland Public Library , Friends of Impett Park/West Park Kamm’s Neighborhood Development, Nature Center at Shaker Lakes, and the Village of Newburgh Heights. Each recipient was awarded $10,000. 2025 recreation recipients are A Place 2B Me, City Bedford Parks & Recreation, Empower Sports, MBB Special Olympics, NPower Services/RockAbility, REC2CONNECT FOUNDATION, STAR Summer Camp, and Youth Challenge. Awards ranged from $5,000 - $8,750. 2025 library recipients are the Cleveland Heights-University Heights Public Library and Westlake Porter Public Library. Awards ranged from $1,700 - $2,400.
