During Black History Month, we were honored to support homeowners in The Historic Town of Eatonville, one of the nation’s oldest Black-incorporated towns. ??? Ms. Bradley and Ms. Billy welcomed us into their newly renovated homes, where they received critical repairs—including a new roof for Ms. Billy, tub-to-shower conversions for safer mobility, mold remediation, new kitchen cabinets and counters, fresh paint, landscaping, and new AC units with heating. Ms. Bradley also had her windows, door, and electrical system repaired. To enhance their safety, both homeowners also received Ring cameras for added security. We’re grateful to our CEO, José García, for sharing our mission and to Representative Anna V. Eskamani, PhD (District 42) for standing with us in the fight for safe and healthy housing. Thank you as well to H.E.L.P. CDC and BankUnited for their support and generosity to helping our neighbors in need. Preserving and uplifting communities like Eatonville is a vital part of honoring Black history and ensuring a brighter future. ?? #RebuildingTogether #SafeAndHealthyHomes #Eatonville #BlackHistoryMonth #CommunityImpact #SafeAtHome

Claudia is a resilient single mom from Punta Gorda who is rebuilding her life after unimaginable challenges. After losing her fiancé and her father in the same year, she’s poured her heart into raising her 4-year-old daughter, providing her with a safe, loving home. Following consecutive years of devastating hurricanes, Claudia's home suffered significant damage. Hurricane Ian initially destroyed her home and possessions. After rebuilding her daughter's room, Hurricane Helene struck, leaving them once again without a home. The subsequent impact of Hurricane Milton brought severe flooding, to make matters worse. Community Foundation of Sarasota County's Suncoast Disaster Recovery Fund is making a tangible difference in the lives of individuals like Claudia. Through their support, we are able to start critical home repairs, such as the installation of new drywall. RTTB is working side-by-side with Claudia to navigate additional funding through the SHIP/HHRP (Hurricane Housing Recovery Program), ensuring we can effectively assist in the rebuilding of her home. Claudia’s story reminds us how vital it is to come together for families in need. If you or someone you know needs help repairing their home, we’re here to assist. #RebuildingTogether #HurricaneRelief #CommunitySupport #TampaBay #RebuildLives
