关于我们

At Reborn from the Forest, we are on a mission to ignite personal transformation and global change. Through our coaching program, we empower individuals to embark on their journey of self-healing and growth. At the same time, our Planetary Health Coalition brings together scientists, experts, and thought leaders to discuss critical issues affecting our planet. This initiative is more than just raising awareness—it’s about shifting paradigms and inspiring real action. We believe that true change happens when we work on both levels: transforming individuals and reshaping the way we think about planetary health. Because when we Heal the People, We Heal the Planet. ??? I firmly believe that when we Heal the People, We Heal the Planet. ???

Webinar Recap: Planetary Health Coalition Meeting – The Role of Women in Planetary Health On November 6, 2024, participants gathered virtually for an inspiring Planetary Health Coalition meeting titled The Role of Women in Planetary Health. Hosted by Renata Anderson, Ph.D., this event highlighted the powerful contributions of two extraordinary women leaders dedicated to fostering sustainable, community-focused change in planetary health. Key Highlights: Alina Pelka – YORGHAS Foundation, presented her work in Malawi through a transformative grassroots project. She described how the foundation’s initiatives support women and girls at the local level by combining health education with sustainable environmental practices. Alina highlighted three impactful components: 1. Workshops for Women and Girls: These workshops focus on empowering women with health, hygiene, and self-care knowledge, fostering resilience and leadership within communities. 2. Fruits for Africa Initiative: This program addresses community nutrition through fruit cultivation, adding valuable nutrition sources, and improving food security. It also provides healthcare access and promotes anti-deforestation practices by encouraging sustainable agriculture. 3. Solar Cookers: Alina shared how introducing solar cookers has reduced respiratory illnesses associated with traditional indoor cooking, improved household income, and reduced deforestation, offering healthier and environmentally friendly cooking alternatives. Hellen Lunkuse T. Waiswa – Rape Hurts Foundation, emphasized the disproportionate impact of climate change on women. She shared powerful insights into the ways climate disasters, such as floods and droughts, exacerbate gender inequalities, with women comprising 80% of those affected by climate-related hardships. Hellen highlighted two key issues: 1. Increased Vulnerability in Disasters: Due to existing gender inequalities, women are more vulnerable during natural disasters, facing heightened risks of displacement, health crises, and poverty. 2. Water Scarcity and Gender-Based Violence: Hellen illustrated how the search for water often leads to increased risks of gender-based violence, including rape, which in turn affects girls' school attendance and commitment, trapping them in cycles of disadvantage. Key Takeaways The event underscored the essential role of women in building resilient communities and sustainable futures. Alina and Hellen both demonstrated how addressing planetary health from a gender-inclusive approach not only empowers women but also fosters broader environmental resilience and community well-being. This webinar was a reminder of the power of grassroots action and the vital importance of supporting women leaders in the field of planetary health. https://lnkd.in/gJkHG-_f #PlanetaryHealth #WomenLeadership #Sustainability #EmpoweringWomen #ClimateAction #EnvironmentalJustice

? Overcoming Limits ? On May 6, 1954, Roger Bannister did the impossible: he ran a mile in under 4 minutes, breaking a barrier many believed to be insurmountable. ??♂??? After a disappointment at the 1952 Olympics, Bannister found inspiration and strength to redefine what the human body could achieve. With determination and the help of friends, he showed the world that limits exist only to be overcome. ?? Reflections on the Planetary Health Coalition Meeting: Water Scarcity and Its Impact on Communities ?? Our recent Planetary Health Coalition meeting was a profound exploration of #water scarcity and its multifaceted impacts, made even richer by the insights of Lumbie Mlambo, Marijah Butcher, and Water Okombo. Each of these leaders offered invaluable perspectives on the intersections between #water, #health, #equity, and #communityresilience. Lumbie Mlambo, CEO of JB Dondolo Inc., shared her critical work in sustainable water solutions that uplift underserved communities, particularly empowering women and children. Marijah Butcher, with her extensive UN experience, emphasized the role of policy in securing sustainable access to clean water. Water Okombo, from Kenya’s Inspiring Progress Community-Based Organisation, gave us an on-the-ground view of community-led projects, from Safe and Clean Water for All to Teenage Mothers Empowerment, which is child-centered and focuses on restoring family dignity and stability. Through the #PlanetaryHealth lens, we understand that #water scarcity isn’t just a local issue but part of a broader #ecological and #social #ecosystem that impacts #health, #genderequality, and #educational access worldwide. The "#DecolonizeWater" approach underscores this understanding, urging us to challenge historical inequities and redefine #water as a shared resource for all. #Water scarcity affects everything from #health and #safety to opportunities for #girls, who often lose out on #education due to the daily hours spent fetching water. The ripple effects extend to increased #genderinequalities and #socialinjustices that need #holistic, #inclusivesolutions. By #collaborating across sectors—from #engineers and #advocates to #governments and #artists in places as diverse as #Zimbabwe, #Texas, #California, and #Kenya—we’re stepping toward a shared goal: restoring dignity, protecting resources, and ensuring that clean water access is recognized as a fundamental human right. Together, we’re redefining our shared responsibility, working to restore homes, dignity, and a future where all communities thrive. #PlanetaryHealth #WaterScarcity #DecolonizeWater #InspiringProgress #YouthEmpowerment #GlobalCollaboration #EnvironmentalJustice #EquityInHealth #HolisticSolutions #TIWN #Rebornfromtheforest

?? My Multi-Species Family & Everyday Heroes ?? I’m grateful every day for my multi-species family, who enrich my life in ways I could never have imagined. #Pebbles, my tiny #Chihuahua, and my three beloved #cats#BammBamm, #Dino, and #TheGreatGazoo are more than just pets. They’ve been my caretakers, my comfort, and my inspiration. They’ve saved my life in ways I can’t express, reminding me that #resilience, #love, and #loyalty come in all shapes and sizes. These little souls teach me something every day. ???? Empowering Women for Planetary Health: The Untold Story of Financial Freedom and Climate Action Despite women gaining the right to vote over 100 years ago, financial freedom is a much more recent development. It wasn’t until October 1974, with the passage of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act, that women could finally apply for a credit card or loan on their own, without needing a male co-signer. Prior to this, banks could deny credit to single women or require married women to have their spouse's signature. This historical barrier to financial independence highlights the critical connection between financial freedom and women's ability to influence decision-making in all sectors, including climate change and planetary health. Women, especially in vulnerable communities, are often on the front lines of climate impact, yet their voices are still underrepresented in key discussions and policies. Achieving true progress on climate and environmental sustainability requires not just acknowledging women’s contributions, but actively empowering them in financial and decision-making spaces. When women have control over their finances and resources, they can drive more inclusive, resilient solutions for planetary health and climate action. Let's work toward a future where women's leadership and financial independence go hand in hand with a healthier planet. #PlanetaryHealth #WomenInClimate #FinancialFreedom #EqualOpportunities #SustainableFuture #WomenInLeadership #Rebornfromtheforest #TIWN

Despite women gaining the right to vote over 100 years ago, financial freedom is a much more recent development. You read the right – it wasn't until October 1974 and the passage of the Equal Credit Opportunity Act that women were finally able to apply for a credit card or a loan on their own, without a male co-signer. Prior to 1974 banks required married women to have their spouse's signature on credit applications and could deny credit cards to single women. The law made it illegal for a financial institution to discriminate against applicants based on gender, race, or religion.
