  • Happy International Women’s Day! As we look forward to tomorrow’s celebrations, I had the incredible honour of leading a powerful community of women in commemorating International Women’s Day 2025. Among the remarkable women who joined us at Karura Forest were the Indian High Commissioner to Kenya, Ms. Namgya Khampa and my mentor, Esther Koimett. Leadership is about bringing people together, creating space for voices to be heard, and ensuring that no one is left behind. Standing alongside these phenomenal women today, I am reminded of the strength found in unity and the transformative power of collective action. This International Women’s Day, I urge every woman and girl to: ? Step forward with confidence. ? Prioritize well-being. ? Lift as you climb. No one succeeds alone and ? Take action today. Let’s lead. Let’s empower. Let’s rise! #IWD2025 #ForAllWomenAndGirls

  • Women in leadership are not just breaking barriers—we are building bridges. ?? Through defining moments, I have learned that resilience, purpose and courage are the true forces behind impact. If I could speak to my younger self, I’d say:?Own your voice, embrace the challenges and never doubt your place at the table. And to every woman out there,?step into your power. Stay unstoppable. The world is waiting for your greatness. To mark this?International Women’s Day, I had a powerful conversation on?#PowerDialogueAfrica?about leadership, lessons, and what it takes to rise and stay the course.? • Tourism remains one of the most dynamic and significant economic pillars of our region, providing millions of jobs, fostering cultural exchange and driving economic transformation. However, for the sector to sustain its growth and global competitiveness, we must invest in our youth equipping them with the skills and opportunities necessary to lead the industry into the future. Earlier today, I had the honour of officially launching the Strategic Human Capital Initiatives for Eastern Africa, spearheaded by the Global Tourism Resilience and Crisis Management Centre – Eastern Africa at Kenyatta University. I reaffirm my commitment to championing policies and programs that empower young professionals, strengthen industry-academia collaboration, and position Africa as a hub of tourism excellence.

  • Gender equality must not be a side agenda, it should be embedded in the core of our economic strategies, leadership structures, and national development frameworks. Let us champion gender equality not only as a fundamental right but as the catalyst for a more just, prosperous and sustainable world.

????????????.????????????????.??????????????????????. This morning, I joined IFC - International Finance Corporation Africa ,Global Compact Network, NSE , UN Women and various leaders for the 11th Ring the Bell Ceremony, an initiative that carries a powerful and urgent call to action to advance the rights, equality and empowerment of all women and girls. This is more than a conversation, it is a moment to reaffirm our commitment to breaking down systemic barriers and accelerating progress toward gender parity. Today's ceremony reminds us that gender equality is not just a moral imperative but an economic necessity. Despite significant strides, deep-rooted challenges persist. Women’s full participation in leadership, business and policy-making is fundamental to sustainable development and economic resilience.

  • Happy #WorldWildlifeDay ! Kenya’s wildlife is more than just a treasure,it’s our heritage, our pride, and our future. This World Wildlife Day, we come together at Lake Bogoria National Reserve, Baringo County, to celebrate the beauty of our natural world and the lives it sustains. ? We can protect our wildlife while empowering our communities. But we can’t do it alone. It’s time for government, private sector and communities to take action. ? Because when we invest in wildlife, we invest in our planet, our people, and our future.

  • Earlier today, I visited Nairobi National Park to assess the wildfire situation. The fire, located at the furthest corner of the park near Kitengela, affected 210 acres of the park’s 28,000 acres. The blaze has been fully contained and game drives within the park remain unaffected. I urge all Kenyans to remain vigilant and promptly report any signs of fire outbreaks to authorities. The government remains steadfast in its commitment to safeguarding these invaluable resources for future generations. In a whole-of-government approach, I extend my sincere gratitude to our firefighters, KWS, KDF, KFS, Nairobi County Government, communities and partners, who worked tirelessly to contain the fire.
