As the sixth child in a family of twelve siblings, I’ve always felt like I held a unique position in the bustling Sandalo household. Growing up as a middle child, I discovered a sense of balance between the wisdom of my older siblings and the enthusiasm of my younger ones. My journey led me to a fulfilling career in nursing, where I dedicated 55 years of my life to the noble profession of surgical nursing. Throughout my career, I’ve had the privilege of caring for countless patients and witnessing the miracles of healing firsthand. Outside of my professional life, I am blessed with a loving family of my own. Married with three children and two grandchildren, my family has been my rock and my greatest source of joy. A pivotal moment in my life occurred when I discovered my mother’s diary after her passing. This treasure trove of memories and reflections sparked a newfound passion within me—a desire to honor my mother’s legacy by sharing her remarkable story with the world. It was then that I knew I had found my calling as an author. Now, as I embark on this new chapter of my life, I am excited to weave together the threads of my own experiences and those of my beloved mother into a tapestry of inspiration and resilience.
