Yesterday our Business Development Manager, Leah Wilson attended a panel discussion on Affordable Housing Creation in Gateway Cities. The panel featured notable speakers, including Eric Shupin, Chief of Policy at the Executive Office of Housing and Livable Communities; Moddie Turay, President and CEO of the Mass Housing Investment Corporation; Jeanette Tozer, Affordable Housing Trust Manager for the City of Worcester; and Joshua Lee Smith, Partner in the Land Use and Real Estate Practice at Bowditch Attorneys. The discussion covered key topics such as an overview of housing development in Worcester, updates on housing policy and the recently signed Affordable Homes Act, and a summary of funding programs aimed at supporting affordable housing creation. These programs included the Equitable Development Fund, Worcester's Affordable Housing Trust Fund, and the expansion of the Commonwealth's Housing Development Incentive Program (HDIP).
