Deputy Director for Operations Greg Scovel visits NCIS personnel throughout the U.S. Indo-Pacific Command (INDOPACOM) area of operations to discuss the importance of their NCIS support to the warfighters in the pacific.

A former United States Navy Petty Officer First Class who served for more than 20 years in the Navy has been sentenced to eighteen months in federal prison for orchestrating a conspiracy that stole more than $850,000 worth of military gear earmarked for fellow Navy members and then sold the goods to high bidders from more than fifty countries, including China and Russia.

Mr. Phillip DeWolf, Senior Advisor for International Affairs, Deputy Under Secretary of the Navy (Policy), delivered opening remarks at the NCIS Multiple Threat Alert Center Force Protection Intelligence Conference on Nov. 19 at NCIS Headquarters. This three-day conference, running from Nov. 19-21, brings together personnel from the U.S. Navy, U.S. Marine Corps, and NCIS worldwide. The NCIS Washington, D.C. Field Office and Director Omar Lopez hosted NCIS' annual law enforcement liaison tailgate event this weekend before the U.S. Naval Academy vs. Tulane football game at Navy-Marine Corps Stadium. NCIS has hosted this event for over 25 years to bring together our local, state, federal, and foreign partners to celebrate our longstanding partnerships while cheering on the Midshipmen. Our guests of honor this year included local chiefs of police, assistant U.S. attorneys, as well as our law enforcement colleagues from several foreign partner organizations, all of whom assist NCIS daily in accomplishing our mission across the globe.

Thank you the Honorable Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro for congratulating and welcoming 18 new NCIS special agents following their graduation from the NCIS Special Agent Basic Training Program this past Friday at FLETC. The Honorable Secretary of the Navy Carlos Del Toro congratulated and welcomed 18 new NCIS special agents during a ceremony to celebrate their graduation from the NCIS Special Agent Basic Training Program Nov. 8 at the Federal Law Enforcement Training Center in Glynco, Georgia.

Director Omar Lopez traveled to Japan this week, where he met with NCIS personnel as well as with leaders from the Japanese Maritime Self-Defense Force and their Intelligence and Security Command, the Japanese Public Security Intelligence Agency, the Japanese National Police Agency, and the Japanese Coast Guard. During these meetings, Director Lopez and his counterparts stressed the need for continued partnership and collaboration to combat external threats and protect critical infrastructure for both Japan and the United States. This strong alliance is vital to ensuring regional stability, enhancing capabilities, and strengthening defense initiatives that safeguard the security interests of both nations.
