Had the pleasure of speaking with Paul Bhatti over the last couple weeks about his exciting acquisition of the fabled boxing gym and brand - KRONK? KRONK was home to legendary fighters such as Thomas Hearns and Lennox Lewis but most importantly it was the workplace of Emanuel Steward, arguably the greatest trainer of all-time. Steward trained over 40 world champions under the banner of KRONK and boasted an insane record of 34-2-1 in heavyweight title fights (largely due to the success of Lewis and Wladimir Klitschko). After it’s closure in 2006 and Steward’s death in 2012, KRONK is nowhere to be seen and had little chance of a comeback. But Bhatti and his team are dreaming of bringing KRONK back to the big time.
