?? RJM Diary: CES Reflections ??
Vegas is Vegas, and CES last week was as expected—meetings, drinks, nonstop action. My first RJM CES, I was immersed: 72 hours of overstimulation and a few walk-and-talk videos at the Aria.
The reality at CES was clear: the gatekeepers are gone. It’s a creator-driven culture now. And AI is sure to reshape everything we know.
That was the backdrop, but the devastating fires in LA added a heaviness to the week. For a biz so tied to LA, the surreal Vegas energy mixed with this harsh reality created a disorienting reminder of how uncertain life is.
It all made me reflect on how out of control much of my journey has felt. Back in February, when I entered the market with RJM, I quickly realized how hard it was to get others to see my vision. It was deflating and felt impossible.
During a walk to the beach that weekend, I had an epiphany: let go of expectations—the kind driven by perfectionism and the illusion of control.
I chose to double down on what inspired me: the creativity, vision, and ambition behind my ideas. Eliminate doubt. Embrace the experience rather than obsess over outcomes. “Live in narrative,” as I say. It felt liberating.
That mindset has been with me since and carried me into CES. My goal? Just go there. Be present and trust that something unplanned would spark.
And it did. I had some of the most inspiring, creative deep chats with old friends from media lives past. Sit-downs, dinners, and Baccarat Bar conversations reminded me of what really matters: connection, shared experiences, and the people who truly feed my energy.
It was so fun and gave me life. I’m really grateful for those moments with lifelong friends I admire and respect. And there are so many of you.
For me, CES wasn’t about tangible business or networking. It was about perspective—staying grounded in what I’m building and finding confidence in those who know where I’ve been and believe in where I’m headed.
I’ll leave you with this: RJM is about to break through. I can feel it. Stay tuned.
Thanks for reading. The saga continues… ????
