Gregg Colburn, associate professor of real estate, highlights how the ongoing tariff uncertainty is further complicating an already challenging housing market in a recent article by the New York Times. “What this is doing is creating additional uncertainty throughout the supply chain that complicates an already pretty complicated process — which is getting housing built.” –Gregg Colburn Read here (NYT subscription required): https://lnkd.in/dv3EvtnU *The New York Times digital edition is available for all current UW and Cascadia College students, staff and faculty via the UW Libraries campus-wide subscription. I am pleased to share that my new book, co-authored with Rebecca Walter of University of Washington, has recently been published by Routledge. In AFFORDABLE HOUSING IN THE UNITED STATES, we provide an overview of affordable housing, including definitions, history, policies, programs, and participants. We conclude with three case studies of US cities and provide an affordable housing roadmap for the nation. We appreciate the excellent research and writing conducted by the many colleagues that we cite and reference in this book. This text can be used in both undergraduate and graduate courses (I’m using it in my affordable housing class this quarter) as well as by advocates and policymakers who are looking for an accessible introduction to this complex topic. We are grateful for financial support from University of Washington College of Built Environments that helped get this project across the finish line. https://lnkd.in/g7TNuK7D
