In celebration of #TAW, we’ve tapped in with Shelton Hawkins, an art teacher and former college basketball coach, to design our #OnlyTheBraveTeach Limited Edition Tee ??Hawkins has always used art to escape the pressures that the big game and competition brings, which ultimately led him to collaborating with brands like Nike adidas , National Basketball Association (NBA), and many more! All of the proceeds will go back into the Daphne Hoard National Teacher Fund, which is designed to assist teachers with funding and resources for the upcoming academic year. #LegendssDoLive is thrilled to present “The Daphne Hoard National Teacher Fund”, designed to assist teachers across the country who exhibit the qualities possessed during her time as a teacher in order to impact generations to come. This fund will allow teachers to apply for financial assistance throughout the academic year. Chicago native Daphne Hoard discovered her passion for singing amidst her childhood love for reading and drawing.She pursued a Bachelor's in Education at Prairie View A&M in 1979, later transitioning from a coding job at EDS to become a dedicated Math Instructor. After 28 years of service Daphne's impact, whether through teaching or song, left a lasting impression on many. Now, Hoard's legacy will live on through the Daphne Hoard National Teacher's Fund. The general public and companies can donate to this fund year-round. Teacher scholarships will be given to the teachers throughout the 2024-2025 school year. #RWAR pledges to further our new models to re-imagine and innovate the school to career pathway with literacy being the most essential need to start this new process! We’ve been inspiring youth and adults through rap lyrics, literacy and technology — but why should schools and youth programs nationwide adopt our curriculum? RWAR incorporates the music of our partnered artists by having the students study the artists’ music, RWAR style. At the end of the 8 weeks, the studied partner artist surprises the students with a visit and intimate conversation about the literacy behind the music and lyrics. #RWAR #Pledge #Literacy #Texas #HH4L

Over the next three years, through the Hip Hop 4 Literacy campaign, RWAR plans to reimagine the school-to-career pathway. We’ll prioritize literacy and make our platform more accessible to underserved schools by offering Tech Literacy Grants in select states in collaboration with Microsoft. Educational Entertainment pledges to further our new models to re-imagine and innovate the school to career pathway with literacy being the most essential need to start this new process through Tech Literacy Grants that will allow more underserved schools to have access to educational based content at zero cost.
