?? KKDIK Pre-registration: Crucial for Smooth Compliance ahead of the 2026 Deadline ? Is your company placing chemical substances on the Turkish market that are subject to KKDIK registration requirements? Pre-registering substances under KKDIK is a critical first step toward full registration. It plays a key role in helping you make informed decisions about compliance and secure continued market access in Türkiye. ? ? Why is KKDIK Pre-registration Important? ???? You will have access to the SIEF (Substance Information Exchange Forum) related to your substance(s) for valuable insights into the registration process, lead registrant nominations, and more. ???? You will benefit from staggered registration deadlines (31.12.2026, 2028, 2030), giving you ample time to plan and strategize. ???? For companies facing the 2026 KKDIK registration deadline, now is the time to begin planning your strategy to meet next year’s requirements. ? ? Formulators’ Concern: We have received numerous inquiries from formulators regarding how to ensure market access for their mixtures in Türkiye, especially when they are not the producers of the substances in their formulations. If this applies to you and you are affected by the 2026 deadline, here is what you can do: ???? Pre-register substances contained in your mixtures – that are subject to KKDIK registration requirements – to gain valuable time (until 31 December 2026), while ensuring your suppliers will register the substances covering the volumes you place on the Turkish market. ???? Contact your suppliers’ appointed Only Representatives (ORs) for KKDIK compliance,?and get a written confirmation of their KKDIK registration intentions for the substances they supply to you, including volume coverage. ???? If certain substances won’t be registered by your suppliers, consider registering them yourself or finding a new supplier who will ensure registration and volume coverage for the substances in question. ? KKDIK Pre-registration offers the clarity and flexibility you need to make informed decisions about your KKDIK compliance and maintain uninterrupted market access. ?? Should you need support with KKDIK compliance, don’t hesitate to contact us at [email protected] ? Over the past few days, we have received some questions regarding the registration deadline for specific hazard classes that were initially indicated as falling under the first Ukraine REACH (UA-REACH) registration deadline of 1 October 2026, together with substances exceeding 1 000 t/y. However, based on a re-interpretation of the Resolution on Approval of UA-REACH, it has become evident that the deferred registration deadlines do not apply to these select hazard classes. ? …Want to know more? ?? Two Months to REACH Restriction on Certain Chromium (VI) Substances – Time to Prepare ? On 11 April 2025, ECHA will submit the restriction proposal for certain chromium (VI) substances, a crucial step in the REACH regulatory process. Companies using Cr(VI) substances must act now to prepare for the public consultation. ? ?? What’s happening? ECHA is proposing restrictions on Cr(VI) substances to reduce risks and encourage safer alternatives. The submission in April will start the formal review process, followed by a six-month public consultation where businesses can provide input and request derogations, granted based on risk levels, socio-economic impact, and available alternatives. ?? Key considerations for businesses The restriction will affect companies across multiple supply chains, making regulatory uncertainty a major challenge. Now is the time to assess compliance strategies to avoid disruptions. If your company depends on Cr(VI) substances, submitting strong, well-supported justifications is critical to securing derogations. ? Note that this is the only opportunity to influence the outcome of the restriction, so now is the time to act and be active ? ?? How REACHLaw can help Our CASE Team provides expert guidance on derogations, impact assessments, and regulatory strategy to help businesses navigate the process effectively. ?
