Inspires and enables the LGBTQ MBA & graduate community to be leaders in their careers and in society ? Builds connections among LGBTQ MBA & graduate community The organization's year-round series of global programming & services are focused on leadership development among LGBTQ business students and alumni. For much of this content, Reaching Out works closely with multinational corporations and other organizational partners to create appropriate and sustainable employment opportunities for our LGBTQ MBA association members as they move into their professional careers. The organization is best known for its annual global LGBTQ MBA & Graduate Conference, often referred to as the ROMBA Conference. In 2022 this conference brought together over 1,800 LGBTQ students, alumni and corporate representatives. Reaching Out also partners with a group of leading business schools for the LGBTQ MBA Fellowship, which provides scholarship (over $6M awarded by our school partners annually) and leadership development opportunities for lesbian, gay, bisexual, transgender & queer MBA students as well as their active allies.

Trans Awareness Month is a time of celebration, reflection, and advocacy for the transgender community. It’s an opportunity to recognize the joy and contributions of trans individuals while acknowledging the unique challenges they continue to face. At Reaching Out MBA, we stand in solidarity with our trans community members. We honor the courage of those living openly and bravely, as well as the lives of those who have been taken from us due to the tragic reality of trans violence. Together, we recommit to creating safe, inclusive, and empowering spaces for the trans community.

Day 3 of the ROMBA Conference was an unforgettable finale! The Case Competition finals, sponsored by Bain; the M&A Competition, sponsored by Wells Fargo; and the Startup Pitch Competition, hosted by StartOut, kept attendees on the edge of their seats as they watched competitors vie for top honors. The dedication and skill on display in each pitch and presentation was truly impressive, with packed rooms of supporters cheering on their peers. While some attendees competed, others took part in insightful panels and workshops, covering topics from family planning and expert negotiation strategies to navigating queerness in corporate spaces. Later, the spotlight shifted to our TED-style Perspectives talks, moving many in the audience with personal and inspiring stories. Competition winners were announced, adding to the energy and excitement, and the day wrapped up beautifully with our Marquee Dinner and an energizing keynote discussion by Megan Rapinoe and MC Kiesha Garrison. Throughout the 3 days, connections blossomed, stories were shared, and attendees left with a renewed sense of empowerment and community. We look forward to continuing in this rewarding work and we can’t wait to see you all at more Reaching Out MBA events in the future!
