From everyone here at REACH, we wish you a happy and festive Thanksgiving holiday! Our offices will be closed on Thursday, November 28 in observance of Thanksgiving, but our emergency hotline will still be available at 800-899-4000. Services will resume on Friday, November 29. Our sincerest thanks to those who will be manning the hotline on Thanksgiving Day, you are all rockstars!

Giving Tuesday is one week away! The Tuesday after Thanksgiving is a time for generous individuals to pledge their support to the nonprofit organizations that mean the most to them as we enter the holiday season. Nancy Teeven, a member of REACH’s Board of Directors, was kind enough to write a blog post detailing the financial resources that domestic abuse survivors might not even realize they have access to. A lack of financial resources is one of the biggest reasons why survivors choose to stay with their abusers, so it’s important for them to know about all the options they have available to them. Today is Transgender Day of Remembrance (TDoR), a day on which we honor and remember those who have been senselessly murdered as a result of anti-transgender hatred. TDoR is of particular significance to REACH as a Massachusetts-based organization since it was established back in 1999 in the wake of two separate murders of Black trans women, Rita Hester and Chanelle Picket, who were both Massachusetts residents.
