When you receive your monthly bill from REA Energy, you’re provided with a summary of how much electricity you used during the billing cycle. Did you know that beyond your energy consumption, there are external factors that can impact the price of electricity? -??????The cost of fuels used to generate electricity fluctuates based on supply and demand. -??????When temps dip (or soar), our home heating/cooling systems work harder and longer to keep us comfortable. Extreme weather can also create electricity supply challenges, which can impact costs. -??????REA Energy must cover the cost of equipment, materials, labor and daily operations to ensure you receive reliable power. This is why you see a flat monthly "access fee" on your bill. -??????Federal energy policies and regulations influence how electricity is generated, distributed and priced, which can have a profound impact on overall costs.
