This light-filled recreation center is one of many projects made possible by the Philadelphia Beverage Tax, which allows the City to invest hundreds of millions of dollars into reviving community spaces that residents rely on and communities thrive in. We basked in warm Gold-en hour vibes last night on our tour of American Reading Company, hosted by Total Construction Inc for CREW Greater Philadelphia. It was great to reminisce on the wild ride we've shared with ARC and TCI, starting a project before a global pandemic, working on multiple phases during a pandemic, and reflecting back on success where the core values of the organization and project held fast through it all. We even got to see the LEED Gold plaque installed for the first time! #AuthenticSustainability #LEEDGold #Teamwork

We love the opportunity to collaborate with people as thoughtful as Lucas Hamilton, who summarized the hours of effort we spent in research, energy modeling, and collaborating on cost and constructability with Warfel Construction Company into this highly digestible snippet. In addition to a better building envelope, this simulated skylight by LIGHTGLASS gave us increased flexibility at the roof to locate equipment and solar panels. It was a win all around, and a great reward for a team committed to inquiry and stepping up to find good solutions to hard challenges. #AuthenticSustainability #BiophilicDesign #BetterBuildingsThroughScience
